Hi there! My name is Johanna and I’m a photographer by day, by night, and also that ambiguous time in the -a.m.’s you aren’t sure whether you should call a late night or an early day. I live in Calgary, have a dog named Chucho who has awkwardly long ear hair, and like to ride my bike and use parentheses liberally (. . . you’ll see). Sometimes I work alone, and other times I work on teams. I take a ton of photos for my own devious purposes, but am also available for hire. My favourite photographs are those that record people and things in the real world with maximal levels of their ‘essence’ and minimal levels of my own personal input. My second favourite photos are the exact opposite – people and things that I’ve deliberately arranged into improbable scenes; scenes that make people look twice. Want something unusual?
